If you cancel a Village or Ecosystem subscription, your Sanctuary moves to a Dormant state. Dormancy is not deletion. Everything is preserved.
What's preserved
- All Seeds, Gardens, Scrolls, Proposals, Contributions, Resources, Listings, Gatherings, Rhythms
- All member accounts and roles
- All historical decisions and the Ledger
- All exports remain available
What's restricted while dormant
- You can't create new Seeds, Gatherings, or Proposals
- You can't invite new members
- AI Scribe is disabled
- Federation features are paused
Before you cancel: export everything
Belt and braces. Two minutes of belt-and-braces saves a lot of future regret.
- Settings > Account & Privacy > Download My Data — your personal JSON bundle.
- Settings > Sanctuary > Export Seeds / Inventory / Ledger — three CSVs of your community's records.
How to cancel
Settings > Sanctuary > ARA Membership card > Manage Subscription > opens Stripe customer portal > Cancel.
Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period. You keep all paid features until then.
Re-activating later
Same path: Settings > Sanctuary > Upgrade. Your data is still there. Pick up exactly where you left off.
